Qurʾanic duas for daily remembrance

These six well-known Qurʾanic prayers are presented with Arabic text, a simple transliteration, an English meaning, and the exact surah:ayah reference. Each verse was checked against quran.com. Surah al-Baqarah 2:201

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina ʿadhaban-nar.

Meaning: Our Lord! Grant us the good of this world and the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.

Surah Ta-Ha 20:114

رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا

Rabbi zidni ʿilma.

Meaning: My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.

Surah Al ʿImran 3:8

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ

Rabbana la tuzigh qulubana baʿda idh hadaytana wa hab lana mil-ladunka rahmah; innaka antal-Wahhab.

Meaning: Our Lord! Do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us. Grant us Your mercy. You are indeed the Giver of all bounties.

Surah al-Furqan 25:74

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata aʿyunin wajʿalna lil-muttaqina imama.

Meaning: Our Lord! Bless us with pious spouses and offspring who will be the joy of our hearts, and make us models for the righteous.

Surah al-Aʿraf 7:23

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakunanna minal-khasirin.

Meaning: Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will certainly be losers.

Surah al-Baqarah 2:286 (closing duʿā)

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ ۖ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ۚ أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Rabbana la tuʾakhidhna in nasina aw akhtaʾna. Rabbana wa la tahmil ʿalayna isran kama hamaltahu ʿala alladhina min qablina. Rabbana wa la tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bihi. Waʿfu ʿanna waghfir lana warhamna. Anta mawlana fansurna ʿala al-qawmil-kafirin.

Meaning: Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one You placed on those before us. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Guardian — so grant us victory over the disbelieving people.
